Description: Excellent vertical shooter. It may not seem like a whole lot on the surface, but it has a lot of interesting features, like the ability to force the screen to scroll down so you can backtrack (which is occasionally mandatory), and the fact that hitting the walls doesn't damage you (in most other games, it's just instant death). The powerup system has you collecting credits and buying your upgrades in a shop... there's a pretty wide variety of equipment, and you have quite a few slots to put them in, but things are pretty expensive, so you won't be at full power until you get pretty far into the game. This version has CD audio tracks instead of the original MOD music. It also has a wider variety of songs that play during the game (In fact, there are a bunch of tracks on the disc that are not used in-game unless you specifically assign them in the music edit mode), some speech during the shop scenes (unfortunately, this leads to some long and confusing pauses while the shopkeeper has to load his speech samples), and a few other nice additions such as an in-game manual and a bunch of language translations. The screen may seem cut off on NTSC TV's, though it seems to be more a matter of the screen being offset too low, so if you have adjustment knobs, you can probably get the whole screen to display properly in NTSC (switching to PAL will give you a large black bar at the bottom). Unfortunately, your life guage is a very small bar at the very bottom, so if this is cutoff, you might have some trouble... though the game will still be very much playable.
