Description: It's Doom, though more generic and less inspired. This was fun on my A600 back in the day, but the CD32 version leaves a lot to be desired. Basically run around until you find someone and shoot. Rather than actually doing 3D scaling and rotation, Death Mask goes for a sort of Eye of the Beholder style, locking you into 90 degree turns. This might have worked, except you take half-steps whenever you move, so you often end up struggling to line up enemies and doors. You can't actually dodge enemy fire, so you have to just stand there and blast away while they shoot you. The whole thing is very clumsy, and to make matters worse, the transitions when you rotate really make the perspective and level geometry confusing... but at least it plays fast (unlike Fears, Gloom, or Alien Breed 3D). Make sure you set your controls to "Joypad" at the main menu, otherwise you lose the ability to check the map (making missions almost impossible) and strafe (making the controls even more clumsy). You can play two players simultaneous, either cooperatively or competitively... but even if you play single player, you're still stuck using only half the screen.
