Description: Only American Football game on the CD32, and likely made specifically for the NTSC release of the system, so naturally, it plays nice in NTSC mode. There's no NFL license, so you get fake player names and fake teams (including a few from European cities, and even one from Tokyo!) This came with a pair of playbooks that fit into pockets in the cardboard case. You can play the game without them using an on-screen playbook, but these will let you choose a play without the other player seeing. There are over 300 MB worth of videos in the game, most of them chroma keyed quite badly, giving all the actors a green outline. This actually started off as a sequel to Cinemaware's "TV Sports Football"... Cinemaware went bankrupt before they could finish the game, so Commodore bought up what was there so they could make a CDTV game out of it. This was originally going to be called "CDTV Sports Football", and some of the files on the disc still carry this filename (and in fact, you can tell that some of the video has been edited because the voice actors were saying "CDTV Football"!)... but it doesn't work on the CDTV. The manual refers to the game as "Sports: Football", perhaps Commodore planned to put out a series of sports games, just like the "Insight" series? If you have a mouse in port 2, it might interfere with the menus.
